I’m interested in finding custom made lampshades that are as beautiful and unique as possible.
Links even to pictures are helpful, not to mention tutorials.
I’m particulary interested in innovative designs that can be made by humans.
Thank you very much in advance.

put some kind of crafty idea or the shade. Something unique, not to bright, I am thinking like a slate blue. All suggestions would be appreciated. I don’t want to put material over it. I would rather have some ideas maybe with ribbon and beads, or sequence of some sort. Thanks!

What I am looking for is basicly a husk socket, with bottom turn switch, threaded on the outside to accept a retainer ring to hold a lamp shade. This item is rapidly becoming a standard, but I can’t find one. I tried Home Depot, Lowes, etc.

We’ve had fruit flies buzzing around the kitchen all summer long and have tried various methods to get rid of them. Nothing seems to be working. This morning we found some filmy something around the rim edges of the shade of the light fixture right over the kitchen table. Could this be where those annoying little bugs have been laying their eggs? If these are indeed eggs, how can we clean the shade so that they are killed?

I bought an (working) old glass hanging lamp. I like the shape of it, but think the colors are a little too "Italian restaurant" for me. Is there a way I can recover the glass (ie: paper machier, special paint, any other options…). The help is appreciated in advance!

I have an octopus floor lamp, with the glass shades to it. My mom knocked it over and broke three of the shades. Is there a place where I can get new shades for the ones that broke?!

Someone, I won’t say who…(my husband :>| ) left my bedroom window open while he ran the sprinklers- my bedside lamp took the brunt of the damage. Any ideas how I can get the ugly water stain out of the fabric?

Installing a harp & finial on the lamps designed to use clip-on shades is expensive, complicated and unnecessary! Why would you do that when you can solve the problem of a spiral CFL/clip-on shade with a product that costs only A dollar and takes 30 seconds to solve the problem?

I love this lamp shade from Pottery Barn Kids for my two year old daughter’s big-girl room BUT cannot imagine spending 0 plus shipping for a shade alone. http://www.potterybarnkids.com/products/madison-touch-base-and-flower-shades/?pkey=rromgirlbb#BVRRWidgetID
Would this be easy to glue on faux flowers with hot glue perhaps? Does Michaels sell bulk flowers like this? Any suggestions or ideas would be helpful. Thank you crafters!

What are those lamps with folded shades called? They are rounded like flat lamp shades, but the edges have an in-and-out pattern. Respectful answers please, thank you

I had a lamp when I was younger that had a clay, short round bottom, with a blue jewel in the middle of it. The lamp shade glowed in the dark and had characters from the movie "Aladdin" on it. We had gotten it from Wal Mart back in the early 90s, and I am looking for one again. Does anyone know where I can get another? I have looked everywhere and getting a little disappointed.

I have a 1938 Disney Dumbo lamp with original shade. The shade is very dirty. Will it hurt the value of the lamp to clean the shade?
